Teen Counseling Program
The Teen Counseling Program provides crisis and ongoing counseling to teens and their families for free.  We serve teens as young as 12 who have run away, are at risk of running away, were thrown out of their home, or at risk of being thrown out or being homeless.  The program also offers service linkage to emergency shelter in a local group home for up to 21 days to provide a safe place for teens to stay while working to resolve the issues that led to them leaving home. Teen Counseling Program services are available to teens in Charlottesville and Albemarle, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa and Nelson counties. Victims of Child Abuse
The CYFS Victims of Child Abuse Program provides free direct outpatient counseling to youth 18 and under who have been victims of abuse or neglect. Counseling services are also available for youth living in homes where domestic violence has taken place. VOCA Treatment Specialists help victims to cope with the trauma of abuse and move forward successfully. Treatment specialists also work to help families learn ways to support the victim at home as well as strengthen and implement safety measures to prevent the re-occurrence of trauma in the future. Surviving the Teen Years
Surviving the Teen Years is a fun and interactive six-week class for parents and their kids (9-18 years old). STY is for families who are struggling with communication, roles and responsibilities and other family and parenting challenges. Past participants, both parents and teens, indicate that they found these classes very helpful. MORE
